The ‘service users’ at Community Meeting Point like to be referred to as ‘members’. When someone joins our service they meet with an identified worker and are encouraged to think about their goals and what they want to achieve through using our service.
We support our members to focus on their individual strengths and goals rather than their illness.
To help us to do this we use something called the Recovery Star. The Recovery Star helps us to work with our members to find out where they are in their life and identify where they want to get to. From this information we support our members to develop a personal ‘recovery star plan’ which outlines how they are going to achieve their goals.
The Recovery Star also supports members to measure their progress and helps them identify any changes that need to be made to their individual plans. To find out more about the Recovery Star model please visit The Mental Health Providers Forum .
