Day Centre
This was the first part of CMP to open in 1991. It opens for two days a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) and is open to members between the ages of 18 and 65 who are referred by the local health authority.
It now has two members of professional staff (both ex-psychiatric nurses) and about a dozen volunteers.
Activities include planning, buying ingredients and cooking a two course subsidised mid-day meal, swimming, badminton, walks, keep fit and relaxation, music appreciation, word games, table-tennis and outings.
These activities help to promote independent living skills and improve the quality of life for the members. The Day Centre operates from 10am until 4pm and only closes for a few Bank Holidays every year.
